OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE: The philosophy of osteopathic medicine centers on the importance of addressing the body, mind and spirit in the prevention and treatment of illness. It teaches us that we are all unique individuals with the inherent capacity for healing and maintaining balance within. The osteopathic approach emphasizes the importance of the interrelatedness of the nervous and musculoskeletal systems. Any imbalance in these systems or structures can lead to a loss of normal function. This approach utilizes an additional tool in patient care called OMT – osteopathic manipulation treatment.
